The scariness and insanity of what happened with Linval Joseph two weeks ago in that Minneapolis nightclub is captured in this quote from the defensive tackle when he was asked about the incident (via ESPN.com).

"“I thank God for it being a clean wound — straight in, straight out,” Joseph said Tuesday."

Joseph was hanging out with friends, including some unnamed Viking teammates, when he caught a stray bullet in the leg during a random shooting inside the 400 Soundbar club in Minneapolis the night of Aug. 9.

The defensive tackle has been unable to practice or play since the incident but he assures us he will be ready to answer the bell when the Vikings take the field for the regular season opener Sept. 7 against the Rams in St. Louis.

Joseph had one more statement to make about the incident, which he is now ready to leave in his past:

"“It’s behind me now. I’m glad I’m healthy and can help this team,” Joseph said. “To all the victims and anybody else who was involved, who was seriously hurt, I wish them a speedy recovery, as well. You never wish for anything like that to happen to anybody.”"

Joseph joined the Vikings this offseason on a five-year/$31.5 million free agent contract and is expected to be a vital cog in their new-look defense.
