The Vikings finally got some good news today.  It appears as though rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will return to action on Sunday after missing Thursday Night Football last week.

Bridgewater sprained his ankle in the Vikings 41-28 win over the Atlanta Falcons.  On a play in the red zone, Teddy dove for the end zone and came up short when he was tackled low and an Atlanta player landed on his foot.  Bridgewater left the game after the play and did not return, forcing former Vikings first round pick Christian Ponder into the game to finish.

Turning around on a short week, Bridgewater was unable to have the kind of mobility needed to be active for the Thursday Night Football game against the Green Bay Packers.  He looked visibly upset on the sidelines of that game that he couldn’t participate, which isn’t out of the ordinary for a highly competitive player like Teddy.

"“I’ve been able to spend a bunch of time in the training room since we got back from Green Bay, so the ankle is feeling good and I’m excited to get back out there for this weekend.” Bridgewater said according to an article on the Minneapolis Star Tribune website.  “On Sunday, I’ll be able to just play full speed.”"

Teddy Bridgewater should give the Vikings a better chance at a win for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions.  Detroit currently has the #1 overall defense in the NFL, and Minnesota will need to be at the top of their game in order to defeat the NFC North leading Lions.
