Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson Still Not 100% Healthy

Lately, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson has been a non-factor in the team’s offense.  Despite the Vikings forcing the young pass catcher the ball last week, Patterson only managed to get 15 yards and catch 2 of the 8 passes thrown his way.  In fact, it even has non-Vikings fans considering dropping him in their fantasy football leagues.

A lot of this struggle can be attributed to an injured hip that has nagged him for the past couple weeks.  However, in an article on ESPN’s website, Cordarrelle Patterson says that he’s trying to get back to being healthy:

"“I don’t feel like I’m 100 percent. I should be next week. Just keep getting treatment, just keep grinding in treatment and do what it takes. [Last] Thursday [against the Packers], I sat out the whole second half, but I don’t feel I need to let that happen again.”"

Maybe some of the struggles are because the Vikings have a struggling offensive line and a starting quarterback that is a rookie, but getting Patterson involved has to be a priority for Minnesota’s offensive coordinator, Norv Turner.  When healthy, Cordarrelle Patterson is a dynamic force that is a threat to get into the end zone every play.  Sadly, that isn’t the version of him hasn’t been around for the team lately.

Several plays in both the games against the Packers and Lions found Cordarrelle Patterson on the sidelines while rookie wide receiver Charles Johnson got snaps in his place.  While Johnson played well in Patterson’s absence, Minnesota has to want Cordarrelle back healthy as soon as possible.
