The 2015 NFL Draft is only four days away.  With that, excitement for the event is reaching insanely high levels.  Fans of all teams, including the Minnesota Vikings, are doing a lot of research on the top prospects and trying to figure out which players can help the team the most.  Heck, even I joined in the excitement this year and did profiles on 77 of the top college players making the jump to the NFL.

Hopefully, you’re as ready for the 2015 NFL Draft as I am.  There’s no questioning that the Minnesota Vikings have been doing their research and are prepared with their big board.  To make the most of the draft, we need know where the team will be selecting.  Since there have been a couple trades regarding these picks, some of the selections will not be where the team was initially slated to be selecting.

Here is the list of draft picks for the Minnesota Vikings according to Vikings.com.

  • Round 1, Pick 11 (#11 overall)
  • Round 2, Pick 13 (#45 overall)
  • Round 3, Pick 12 (#76 overall)
  • Round 4, Pick 11 (#110 overall)
  • Round 5, Pick 1 (#137 overall) (from Buccaneers through Bills)
  • Round 7, Pick 11 (#228 overall)
  • Round 7, Pick 15 (#232 overall) (from 49ers through Dolphins)

As you can see, the Minnesota Vikings do not have a sixth round draft pick and have two seventh round selections.  In typical Rick Spielman fashion, the odds of the team making selections with all these picks on draft day is very low.  In fact, Minnesota has become notorious for making deals on draft day, often times acquiring a second first round selection as of late.

The 2015 NFL Draft is scheduled to kick off with the #1 overall selection by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday, April 30 at 8:00 pm Eastern Time.  Be sure to watch to find out which collegiate standouts will become members of the Minnesota Vikings.
