Laquon Treadwell calls Mike Zimmer ‘Coach Zimmerman’

Laquon Treadwell got his Vikings career off to a good start by referring to Mike Zimmer as “Coach Zimmerman.”
Step one for Laquon Treadwell as he gets acclimated to his new life in the NFL: Learn the head coach’s name.
Friday afternoon the Vikings’ first-round pick stepped behind the podium for his introductory press conference and immediately handed idiots like me something to make bad jokes about.
Perhaps it was nervousness or perhaps Treadwell just isn’t great with names, but when he tried to thank coach Mike Zimmer, it came out all wrong.
"“First and foremost I would like to thank the Wilf family, Rick Spielman our GM and our head coach, coach Zimmerman, for believing in me.”"
I hope the next time Zimmer talks about Treadwell he refers to him as “Treadway” or “Treadmill.” Actually, the Treadmill one already happened. This is what Laquon’s new teammate Charles Johnson tweeted and then deleted:

All right so when OTAs roll around, first order of business is everyone gets in a room and learns each other’s names. It’s like the first day of school! Everybody go around and say your name. Maybe name-tags would help? Maybe everyone could make up a little song that includes their name.

All kidding aside, Treadwell came across as very humble and laid back in his first press conference and outside of that little slip-up at the start, he gave all the right answers and comported himself well. He’s definitely doing a better job than his former Ole Miss teammate Laremy Tunsil.
And guess what? Laquon Treadwell isn’t getting paid to talk. He’s getting paid to dominate on the football field. I look forward to watching Treadwell tear it up in the NFL and and I’m sure coach Zimmerman does too.
