Green Bay Packers players of the past, including recent favorite John Kuhn, are set to appear in an indie comedy about rabid Cheeseheads.

Considering the cultural prominence of Cheeseheads, as Wisconsin sports fans in general but specifically Packer fans have come to be known, it was only a matter of time before someone made a movie about that particular set of very unique and interesting people.

Prepare yourselves Viking fans because it’s happening: there is going to be an indie comedy about rabid Packer fans, starring some former real life gridiron stars including one-time top-100 player John Kuhn.

Deadline has the scoop on what is sure to go down in history as the Citizen Kane of Cheesehead movies:

"The project, The 60-Yard Line, is based on the life of Tim Lucke who is friends with the filmmaker Ryan Churchill. The story follows Ben “Zagger” Zagowski and Nick “Polano” Polano who are best friends and co-workers and buy a house whose back door is right up against the parking lot of the stadium. One is forced to pick between a football fan party life and a girl."

The movie’s tagline? “Beer is consumed. Lives change. There’s a cow.”

Deadline says Kuhn will be joined in the flick by fellow former players Mark Tauscher, Ahman Green and Michael Montgomery. For those wondering “Who is Michael Montgomery and why is he in this movie?” The who: He played for the Pack from 2005 through 2009. The why: he is currently pursuing an acting career.

Next: Peterson bucking for Favre treatment

No word yet on whether Brett Favre will be back to play Brett Favray, the role he made famous in the movie There’s Something About Mary. Considering that this is a low-budget indie film I doubt they can meet Favre’s asking price.

All snarkiness aside, this actually sounds like it could be a lot of fun. If the film is truly able to capture the essence of the Packer fan experience…well, it will definitely be humorous, and possibly a tad disgusting.
