Vikings practice squad offensive lineman Isame Faciane was arrested over the bye week, ending the team’s long streak without arrests.

Just because it’s the bye week doesn’t mean there isn’t any Vikings news coming in. After being pulled over at 2:33 A.M. on Wednesday, practice squad offensive lineman Isame Faciane was arrested on multiple counts for a 4th degree DWI and driving without a license.

According to a KARE-11 report, Faciane was seen by policemen driving recklessly, at one point even driving around construction barricades and going the wrong way down the highway.

The incident ended a streak of no arrests for Minnesota’s professional football team that stretched back almost two years. The Vikings have made good behavior a key part of their evaluation process, staying away from prospects and free agents with major character concerns.

However, the current regime has shown some leniency in the past for first offenders, as they opted to retain cornerback Jabari Price after he was arrested on a similar DWI charge in January 2015.

Given that this was Faciane’s first offense, he may very well get a second chance, but this arrest will certainly put him in the hot seat.

Faciane was initially signed as an undrafted free agent out of Florida International in 2014, and after spending a year on the practice squad as a defensive lineman, made the switch to offensive guard. Faciane appears to have settled in on offense, as he spent the 2015 season on the practice squad and made the unit again this year.

Given all the time that the Vikings have spent developing Faciane, they seem to think he has potential, but this arrest will certainly put him in the staff’s doghouse. It will be interesting to see what happens next.
