The former Minnesota Vikings offensive tackle spoke in an interview on Tuesday about how he no longer has a Twitter account due to the constant criticism he received from the team’s fans.

Matt Kalil is no longer a member of the Minnesota Vikings. Now with the Carolina Panthers, the offensive tackle does not have to watch his words when he speaks about his dislike for Minnesota’s fans.

On Tuesday, Matt and his brother Ryan appeared on “The Rich Eisen Show” to talk about football, eating during games, and playing on the same NFL team with each other among other things. Early in the segment, Eisen asked Matt about his lack of a Twitter account these days and the offensive tackle explained why that is.

"“After playing in Minnesota, I just got rid of my Twitter. I was harassed left and right.”– Matt Kalil"

Apparently, opposing defensive ends are not the only thing Kalil has had trouble with during his time in the NFL.

His comments should be of no surprise to anyone really. Kalil was been on the receiving end of a ton of criticism from fans during his time with the Vikings.

Perhaps Minnesota’s fans were just not satisfied with the level of play their team was getting from a player that was selected fourth overall in the 2012 NFL Draft?

But now both Kalil and the Vikings will get to experience life without each other in 2017. At least until Minnesota heads to Carolina for their scheduled game next season and Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen gets an opportunity to manhandle Kalil like he has done so many times during Minnesota’s recent training camps.
