Sam Bradford not worried about Minnesota Vikings extension
By Adam Carlson
The Minnesota Vikings aren’t talking about an extension for Sam Bradford yet, but the quarterback isn’t too worried about his future with the team.
In today’s NFL, if a franchise wants to be successful they need to have a quality player at the quarterback position. For the Minnesota Vikings, that means having Sam Bradford playing at a high level.
Last year, Bradford set an NFL record for pass completion percentage despite serious issues with the offensive line and a dismal rushing attack. However, the Vikings are in no hurry to lock him down with a contract extension.
Sam Bradford is entering a contract year with the Vikings. His contract expires after 2017, so Minnesota will need to make a decision at that time. In the meantime, they likely want to see a bigger sample size from him with the team before making a big financial commitment.

Here is what Bradford said about an extension according to the Star Tribune:
"“Honestly, I try not to think about it too much just because I don’t have a whole lot of control over it,” he said. “I come in here every day, trying to get better and be the best teammate and best quarterback I can be. And I think that’s all I can really do.”"
Meanwhile, the media has been pushing hard to find out anything they can about whether or not the team are focusing on locking down Bradford, but general manager Rick Spielman continues to make this a non-discussion at this time.
"“Nothing is concrete. No decisions have been made,” Spielman said at the Vikings pre-draft press conference."
Next: Vikings unlikely to pick up option on Bridgewater
With the future of Teddy Bridgewater still in limbo and no other potential starting quarterback on the team’s roster, the Minnesota Vikings need to be considering an extension for Bradford, even if they aren’t going to be showing their cards about how a potential deal will be getting done.
