Kentrell Brothers is itching to get involved in the Minnesota Vikings, but is working hard and waiting for his opportunity doing anything asked of him.

Earning a big role on an NFL team can be a challenge. Many players have to work their way up through the ranks and continue to prove themselves at every level. Minnesota Vikings linebacker Kentrell Brothers is willing to do just that.

In a recent article on the official Vikings website and Scout.com’s Viking Update, the role of Kentrell Brothers was discussed, and it appears that the second year player is itching to get more involved.

Brothers talked to John Holler of Viking Update about his mindset coming to the team and then having to wait for his opportunity:

More from The Viking Age

"“I thought I was ready to play right away, but it didn’t happen and I know now why it didn’t. I was ready to contribute, but there were experienced guys in front of me and I had to wait my turn.””"

But it won’t be a lack of playing that will frustrate Brothers too much. He knows that if he can do what is asked of him and keep performing at a high level that his opportunity will eventually come.

"“I just want to play, man” Brothers said. “I don’t care what role they want me in. I’m ready to do whatever [the coaching staff] wants to me to do to help this team win.”"

Kentrell Brothers contributed in a big way on special teams during the 2016, but has yet to make an impact on defense. Hopefully, he can continue to impress the Minnesota Vikings and earn more opportunities in 2017.
