While things didn’t work out with the Minnesota Vikings, offensive coordinator John DeFilippo has landed on his feet and found a job with the Jaguars.

Entering the 2018 NFL season, hopes were high that John DeFilippo would bring a lot of creativity and production to the Minnesota Vikings in hopes of pairing a strong defense with an explosive offense.

Sadly, that didn’t work out. The marriage of DeFilippo and the Vikings didn’t last long. He was relieved of his duties following Week 14 when the Minnesota offense was unable to move the ball well against the Seahawks in a prime-time matchup.

While it was disappointing for this experiment not to work out, DeFilippo appears to have landed on his feet. Reports show that it didn’t take long for him to find a new job with an NFL team…and one that keeps him as an offensive coordinator.

It is being reported by Ian Rapoport‏ of NFL Network and NFL.com on Twitter that John DeFilippo is expected to land a job with the Jaguars.

DeFilippo made his NFL debut with the New York Giants as an offensive quality control coach and will rejoin Tom Coughlin, who is currently the executive vice president of football operations for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

This will be DeFilippo’s third shot as an offensive coordinator. His first attempt came with the Cleveland Browns in 2015 but was let go after one season when head coach Mike Pettine was let go.

Of course, Jacksonville isn’t known for having a lot of pieces on offense. This job will be a challenge for John DeFilippo but one that could give him an opportunity to spend more than one season as an offensive coordinator.

We at The Viking Age would like to thank John DeFilippo for his time with the Minnesota Vikings and wish him nothing but luck on all of his future endeavors in the NFL. Best of luck in Jacksonville!
