Berrian has battled a hamstring injury since early in preseason and has not gotten in the work he and Brett Favre would like.  Let’s hope those two develop some fast chemistry.

Two other receivers, Jaymar Johnson and newly-acquired Greg Lewis, are among the Vikings’ inactives.  So is Sage Rosenfels, who is officially listed as the third QB.  Fred Evans is also out.

The Williams Wall, of course, is intact thanks to the courts.  Rookie Alex Mack will get thrown right into the fire against them, staring in place of Hank Fraley for the Browns.

No one’s quite sure what exactly the league objected to in Harvin’s contract, which will pay the receiver $8.5 million in guaranteed money, but speculation is that there are some fancy clauses built into the deal that didn’t pass muster with the NFL suits.  Some kind of bonus for every drug test Percy passes, maybe.  Or a clause guaranteeing him more money if he goes a year without a hospital visit.

The $8.5 million guaranteed is, by the way, more than what Alex Mack, the man picked just ahead of Harvin, got in his deal.  Now we know what that little hold-out was about.

very much in the dark as of now. during draft show with bercich i’ll have a much better feel as the teens start to fall, and if josh freeman is at 22 as i mentioned yesterday no surprise if they select him.

Butler is cornerback Darius Butler who I forgot to ever say anything about even though he popped up in a couple of mocks.  No mention of Eben Britton, Alex Mack or Phil Loadholt?  Can anyone else remember a draft where everyone seemed so clueless going in?
