]]> Adrian Peterson has chalked up his much-discussed (at least on the web) post-touchdown premature helmet removal during the Packer game to an excess of enthusiasm.  “I was just really caught up in the moment,” AD told the Tampa Bay media in a conference call. “Especially after having the fumble and then coming back out with the mentality I had on the last drive. For me, it was more emotional because I had just fumbled to put us in a bad situation that could’ve cost us the game, and then in the last drive when we needed it, turned it around and got into the end zone. I was sitting on the sidelines and just really having faith, telling myself and telling the guys, ‘Hey, we’re going to win, we’re going to pull it out.’ Needing a career drive, having the faith it was really going to happen. I was just caught up in the moment. I wasn’t trying to celebrate.”

I’m assuming Brad Childress has had a talk with Adrian about keeping his lid on until he’s back in the bench area.  We don’t need any Dwayne Rudd situations ruining any games for us.

]]> Napoleon Harris was let go by the Chiefs after dropping off their depth chart, and now the linebacker-strapped Vikings are bringing him in for a physical.  Harris, who played for the Vikes before taking big money with the Chiefs and having a decent 2007 season, has also reportedly visited the Lions.  The Vikings, who have lost E.J. Henderson and Heath Farwell to season-ending injuries, already brought back Dontarrious Thomas who left for San Francisco before the season but never caught on.  Can Dwayne Rudd and Jeff Brady be far behind?
