Berger is a six year veteran who spent a couple of years bouncing around after being drafted in the sixth round in 2005 by the Panthers, finally finding a home with the Dolphins in 2009. Miami signed Berger as a swing man but he ended up winning the center job, starting 20 games in two years. Berger was let go by the Dolphins after camp this year.

Berger gives the Vikings a better option as a back-up center/guard than Jon Cooper, but could also end up starting at center if the Vikes decide John Sullivan isn’t getting the job done. This might not be the last personnel move on the offensive line, as the Vikings attempt to re-tool what is obviously a woefully inadequate aspect of their roster.
