For most of the season I thought the Kitties were trying to emulate the Green, Yellow, and Hunter Orange from Wisconsin. Last season the Pack only ran the ball to appease the fans. After all those RBs can’t be getting all that jack and not do anything right? The Pack made their living, and still do, through the air. Until Monday night the Kitties seemingly were taking the same approach. The Lions were going to go up top to Megatron and even if you triple teamed him it didn’t matter because Dude is a freak. You can’t stop him, you only hope to contain him. Then Monday rolled around and Best went Ape $@*#%$ on the Bears. Schwartz wants to run the ball, he thought they were close all year to breaking some big runs and thought they were due for some big runs. Best. 12 for 163. If the Honolulu Blues can be dynamic in the run game to compliment their passing attack then they are putting the NFL on notice that this isn’t your grandpappy’s Lions club.

4^th and 2′ 11”. The momentum had completely shifted and it was starting to have that feel that the Vikings’ defense couldn’t stop a toilet after a eating large Italian dinner. They needed to go for it on 4^th and a bit.

I got a text from a Vikes fan: “Go for it!!!!!!!!!” I look up and there is Coach Adrian waving off THE Ryan Longwell. Okay Coach AD. It was the right call. I like the call.

After all, Adrian has been running with as much anger as I’ve seen him, possibly ever. He simply seems to be able to get positive yards whenever he wants. Even when blocking breaks down, Angry Peterson puts on the wiggle and sneaks forward for a few. We have certain formations we line up in that scream: “Just so you know, this is a run play and we are about to pound that azz with 28.” AD promptly spits out a 6.2 yard gain.
