Vikings receiver Cris Carter has been a Hall of Famer since the first second his name appeared on the ballot in 2008. But for whatever reason he was forced to sweat it out all the way to 2013. Now that wrong has been righted. Cris Carter has at last been voted in, and will take his place in Canton alongside the greats.

When you look at Carter’s career numbers, all you can ask is “What the heck took so long?”

8-time Pro Bowler

2-time First Team All-Pro (in an era filled with great receivers)

NFL’s official All-1990s team

1,101 receptions (4th all-time)

13,899 receiving  yards (9th all-time)

130 receiving TDs (4th all-time)

Carter had a ten year run where, arguably, he was among the top 3 or 4 best receivers in the NFL. If you’re in the top 5 at your position over a 10-year period? You belong in the Hall of Fame.

It was only a matter of time before he got the recognition he deserved. Now that recognition has come. Cris Carter is a Hall of Famer. Justice at last has been served.
