Watch Ray Edwards KO His Boxing Opponent With a Seeming Phantom Punch

I’m no boxing expert but this sure looks like a flop to me. See what you think. It should be obvious which of the two boxers is Ray Edwards. He’s the guy standing at the end. The other guy takes an apparent uppercut around the 12-second mark. Except it doesn’t look like the punch even connects. In fact it doesn’t even look close. It looks like some pro wrestling nonsense.

Edwards got credit for the win despite the dubious punch, pushing his career record to 3-0. Wow, undefeated. Edwards is a veritable Mike Tyson. Has he bought himself a tiger yet?

Vikings Awarded Two Fourth-Round Compensatory Draft Picks

Don’t ask me to explain the system for determining compensatory draft picks because I don’t understand it. I know there’s a formula where they take everyone you lost to free agency and everyone you signed in free agency and work out what your net loss or gain was. The NFL determined that the Vikings were net losers in free agency in 2011 and have therefore given the team a pair of fourth round compensatory draft picks in 2012, bringing their pick total to 10. This was expected to happen so, there’s no need to adjust your draft boards.

The way I understand it, losing Ray Edwards and Sidney Rice was what put the Vikings in the net loss category. So now they’ve got those extra fourth rounders to play with. Two more draft picks is nothing to sneeze at for a team with as many needs as the Vikings. In fact those two additional picks could be huge. They could find another Ciatrick Fason or Nat Dorsey or Shawn Worthen with one of those picks.

A Follow-Up On Jared Allen Punching Ray Edwards In His Junk

It took a couple of weeks but Jared Allen finally addressed the Ray Edwards junk-punch incident (immortalized by TVA in GIF form). Turns out Jared told Ray before the snap that if Ray blew him up he was going to retaliate by punching him “square in his wiener.” Well Ray indeed blew him up, and Jared, true to his word, gave Ray the pop, though he insists it was only a warning punch. And I’ve now spent two posts talking about a man punching another man in the ‘nads. Can you tell the team is 2-10?
