Former Viking Sean Salisbury has been fired from his radio gig in Dallas for allegedly sending unwanted sexy text messages to one of the station’s female employees.

This sexting incident marks a return to form for Salisbury, who had been quiet ever since being fired from ESPN for, among other things, showing women cell phone pictures of his penis.

Recently, America’s first center for treating internet addiction was opened. Someone now needs to open a center for treating addiction to using one’s cell phone to ruin one’s career, and enroll Sean. Before it’s too late.

What would it take to get Jay Cutler in purple? Sean Salisbury‘s special friend John Clayton thinks the price (link to podcast) would be at least a 1st, 2nd and 3rd round pick. And no, John did not merely pull that out of his pasty white troll-butt: He bases it on the last instance of a big-armed QB being traded in his prime. That was Jeff George getting sent from the Colts to the Falcons back in the early ’90s…another example of a quarterback not being able to get along with his coach - Ted Marchibroda in that case – and having to be shipped away. Clayton qualifies this projection by mentioning the Broncos‘ need for a serviceable QB to hold the fort until Josh McDaniels can develop someone new, and their likely desire to receive said QB as part of any Cutler trade. He then mentions six teams as likely destinations, placing the Lions and Browns as front-runners, and the Vikings in the second tier with the Bears, Jets and Buccaneers.

Three draft picks, all 3rd round and higher, would obviously be a lot to give up. What we don’t know yet of course is how hot the market for Cutler will actually be when and if the Broncos officially start shopping him. Character questions could make teams reluctant to give up so much, forcing Denver to lower its price. It all depends on how desperate they really are to get rid of him. I’m assuming they haven’t given up trying to reconcile. That would be a lot easier if Cutler would stop acting like such an over-sensitive punk.

Cris Carter made small little ripples in the great big media pond last week by apparently advocating gun-violence as a solution to Dallas‘s little Terrell Owens problem. “If I got a gun I got one bullet in it, I shoot T.O. right now,” Carter said. “Right on the spot. I have a press conference my first day they hire me, I have him come, I put a bullet right there sitting in him.” I’m pretty sure Carter was speaking figuratively there, but obviously, it was still a poor choice of words (never mind the fact that “I put a bullet right there sitting in him” doesn’t even make sense). And, even worse, it opened him up for a big comeback by T.O., who never met a controversy he didn’t want to dive straight into. Sadly, rather than rip Carter the new one he so richly deserves, Owens brought the weak stuff. The receiver said on Yardbarker (which, by the way, is an affiliate of Fan-Sided Blogs):

Hey Yardbarker… This is T.O. and I want to tell you this myself. People ask me what I thought about what Cris Carter said about me a few days ago. All I know is, if I’d been the one who had said that about him, what would everyone have thought?

I don’t know T.O. – that you’re an idiot with a big mouth? Sort of like Cris Carter?

It saddens me that Terrell’s brashness and magnetism are not matched by an ability to fire off a witty riposte, even when he has a chance to sit there and think about it before typing it. It also saddens me that Carter, one of my all-time favorite players, has become little more than a clown since joining the media big-leagues. Wouldn’t shock me to see ESPN dump him at the earliest possible opportunity. They cut loose Sean Salisbury with little hesitation, and he had way more of a profile on that network than Carter does. Besides, Keyshawn Johnson already fills their quota of buttwipe former wide receivers. Carter seems redundant.
