Bernard Berrian was questionable going into today, but we now know he will be on the field when the Vikings kick off against the Browns.

Berrian has battled a hamstring injury since early in preseason and has not gotten in the work he and Brett Favre would like. Let’s hope those two develop some fast chemistry.

Two other receivers, Jaymar Johnson and newly-acquired Greg Lewis, are among the Vikings’ inactives. So is Sage Rosenfels, who is officially listed as the third QB. Fred Evans is also out.

The Williams Wall, of course, is intact thanks to the courts. Rookie Alex Mack will get thrown right into the fire against them, staring in place of Hank Fraley for the Browns.

A ruling has been handed down in the StarCaps case, and by the looks of it, the Williams Wall has beaten the NFL and will not be suspended four games.

At least I think that’s what this means.

My ignorance of legal matters – thankfully, I haven’t had much experience with the insides of courtrooms, outside of jury duty – means I am entirely beholden to the opinions and conclusions of others when it comes to such stories. And the first person I go to is PFT’s Mike Florio, because he is a lawyer, and presumably knows what he’s talking about.

And it’s Florio’s conclusion that the Williams Wall will now not be suspended.

The NFL can apparently still appeal, but the consensus seems to be that such an appeal would take so long to wend its way through the legal system, the season would be over before anything was resolved.

Again, it looks like we will have Pat and Kevin in the line-up for the full 16 game schedule. And the playoffs. And of course the Super Bowl.
