The Good Stuff vs Chicago

  1. Linval Joseph is still a monster. he was taking on multiple guys in the trenches, winning the battles, and still making tackles. Minnesota did the absolute correct thing when giving him an extension because without him that defensive line just isn’t the same.
  2. Changing from Bradford to Keenum. Not only was the performance not good, but Sam Bradford looked like he was extremely uncomfortable and not very mobile at all. In fact, this decision should have been made sooner in the game.
  3. Pass protection. Once the Vikings switched from Bradford to Keenum, the Bears stopped getting sacks. A mobile quarterback with a shifting pocket makes it much easier to keep their quarterback clean and sustain long drives.
  4. Resiliency. There was plenty of times in the game that Minnesota could have been absolutely deflated. Big penalties, defensive errors, and offensive mistakes would have some teams throwing their hands up, but the team stayed composed.
  5. Harrison Smith. 3 solo tackles, 2 passes defended, 1 interception, and a partridge in a pear tree. There isn’t much the Vikings safety didn’t do in this game, and for him to get the 4th quarter interception was very appropriate.
