Minnesota Vikings special teams’ grade: C+

The Vikings special teams’ sore spot on Sunday came from Kai Forbath who missed two field goal opportunities. He missed from 39 and 48 yards out. He entered Sunday’s game only missing one field goal. It was discouraging to see the misses but he did make all of his extra point tries.

More from The Viking Age

The Vikings return game had another quiet game and has been nonexistent all season. Marcus Sherels has not been finding room for big returns.

Ryan Quigley had a solid day punting the ball has he had three punts for 137 yards with one punt inside the 20 yard line. His longest punt was 50 yards.

Overall, the Vikings special team was the disappointing unit on Sunday mostly because of the missed field goals. Lucky for Forbath, that the game was not too close and the field goals did not come back to hurt the Vikings. He will look to bounce back this Thursday against the Lions.
