Although they had interest in him before he was drafted, the Minnesota Vikings were not in attendance as the young quarterback worked out.

Out of the NFL since 2015 because of various issues, quarterback Johnny Manziel is attempting to make a comeback to football this year. Manziel seems more committed than ever to playing in the league again and he’s doing whatever he can to get back on an NFL roster.

After speaking with a few different media outlets last month about his sobriety, his bi-polar diagnosis, and how unprofessional he used to be, the young quarterback seems to be letting his play do the talking now.

On Thursday, Manziel took part in the University of San Diego’s Pro Day after two of the school’s receiving prospects asked if he would throw them passes.

The former Cleveland Browns quarterback drew plenty of attention from the pro scouts who attended the event as he displayed the arm that once resulted in him winning the Heisman Trophy as a freshman at Texas A&M.

Of the 13 NFL teams that had scouts watching Manziel and the other prospects on Thursday, none of them were from the Minnesota Vikings. The Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions were the only two NFC North teams with scouts in attendance.

It shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that the Vikings had no one there to watch him throw on Thursday since their quarterback situation for next season is pretty much set.

Kirk Cousins is the presumed starter and Minnesota’s backup job will go to either Trevor Siemian or Kyle Sloter depending on how they perform during training camp this summer.

While the Vikings did once have interest in Manziel before he was drafted by the Browns (they reportedly had him higher on their draft board than Teddy Bridgewater), it appears that Minnesota has clearly moved on from the possibility of adding him to their roster anytime in the near future.
