Jerick McKinnon – RB (San Francisco 49ers)

In his first ever game-action wearing a non-Vikings uniform, McKinnon was not on the field for that long during his debut with the 49ers last Thursday. The running back played in just one series for San Francisco and touched the ball four times, racking up a total of three yards from scrimmage.

McKinnon’s lack of playing time during the 49ers’ preseason matchup against the Dallas Cowboys last week does seem to indicate that he will open the regular season as San Francisco’s top running back. Which is good, because the 49ers are paying him a bunch of money to be there.

Although, a few days after last week’s preseason game, McKinnon did give San Francisco a little bit of a scare. During the 49ers’ practice on Sunday, the former Minnesota running back injured his knee and had to leave the field.

Luckily for San Francisco, an MRI revealed that McKinnon only suffered a muscle strain and it’s not something that should prevent him from playing in the team’s regular season opener against the Vikings in a few weeks.
