The first half didn’t go as exactly as planned for the Minnesota Vikings, but they’ll have time to make amends in the second half.

The first half for the Minnesota Vikings was not what many had envisioned. With high expectations of a potential Super Bowl run, the Vikings stumbled out of the gate this year and are coming off of their bye with a 5-3-1 record that could have been better (see Daniel Carlson in Green Bay, the Buffalo let down).

But it could also be worse.

Minnesota started the year with a 1-2-1 record, but rebounded to go 4-1 in their final five games before the bye with the lone loss coming to an NFC powerhouse in the New Orleans Saints. Outside of that, the defense has started to come together and the offense is still trying to figure itself out as new pieces are added to the mix.

With two major divisional games at Chicago and at home against Green Bay coming right out of the bye, we’ll know a lot more about the Vikings very soon. Until then, there are plenty of things to keep an eye on as Minnesota heads into the second half of the 2018 season.
