D.K. Metcalf – WR (Ole Miss)

It’s unlikely the Vikings were considering taking a wide receiver at pick 18, but if things fell a certain way and they truly would’ve gone best player available then it could’ve happened. It’s something they won’t have to worry about when it comes to D.K. Metcalf because after the combine there is no chance this guy makes it to the Vikings in round one.

Metcalf was getting a ton of buzz prior to the combine when pics emerged of him being insanely ripped. This guy looked like a Greek god and had muscles on his muscles. Questions emerged about whether or not he’d still be able to move well with all that muscle mass. He answered those questions with a resounding “YES” in Indianapolis.

D.K. ran a very impressive 4.33 40-yard dash. That’s a crazy good time for any sized prospect but even more impressive for a guy who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs in at 228 pounds. Metcalf’s performance in the rest of the drills was actually a mixed bag but the 40 gets all the attention and his stock will shoot way up because of it.

There are teams picking in the top 10 who could use a wide receiver, and Metcalf has to unanimously be considered the top prospect at the position now. He might as well start looking for homes in Buffalo because he could very well be catching passes from Josh Allen next year.  He definitely won’t get a chance to catch them from Kirk Cousins, that is for sure.
