The two former Minnesota Vikings are both preparing for the upcoming 2019 NFL season as members of the Washington Redskins.

No matter what happens during the rest of their tenures in the NFL, Adrian Peterson and Case Keenum will always be remembered for their time with the Minnesota Vikings.

Peterson was drafted by the Vikings and he ended up spending the first 10 years of his career in purple. Keenum was only in Minnesota for one season, but he was an important part of the 2017 team that made it all the way to the NFC Championship.

For 2019, both players are now members of the Washington Redskins. Peterson is expected to have a prominent role in the Redskins’ offense during the upcoming season, but Keenum will be part of a training camp battle to determine who will be the team’s starting quarterback this year.

Based on what he’s already seen out of Keenum this offseason, the former Vikings running back sounds like he’s excited about what the quarterback can potentially do for Washington in 2019.

"“Offensively, we really look good with Case Keenum back there. He’s a veteran. He’s been in the league for a long time. He’s a gunslinger. He’s a guy that’s going to throw the ball and spread it around.”"

Could these two former Minnesota players be enough to lead the Redskins to their first playoff win since the 2005 season? Anything is possible, but the expectations for Washington in 2019 should still be pretty low.

While Peterson is coming off of a year in which he finished with at least 1,000 rushing yards for the eighth time in his career, he’s also 34-years-old and two of his last three seasons have ended early due to injury.

And even though Keenum experienced success with the Vikings not too long ago, he’s coming off a disappointing season in 2018 as the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos. In 16 games with the Broncos last year, he threw for 3,890 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions.
