5 takeaways from the Vikings’ preseason win over the Seahawks

Wile on his way out?
Many were hoping to get some answers to the questions surrounding the Vikings’ current kicking situation on Sunday and they might have actually figured a few things out.
Against the Seahawks, Dan Bailey got the opportunity to kick a field goal, Kaare Vedvik was able to punt and kick an extra point, and Chad Beebe was used as a holder. The guy who didn’t get a chance to go out on the field until there were 16 seconds left in the game was punter Matt Wile.
Based on what went down on Sunday, it seems like Minnesota is leaning closer to starting the regular season with Bailey as their kicker and Vedvik as their punter. Meaning Wile’s tenure with the Vikings could be over any day now.
It’s a move that was pretty easy to see coming though, especially after Minnesota traded away a fifth-round draft pick to acquire Vedvik last week. Some thought that the new guy would be taking over Bailey’s job, but it seems like he’s probably going to end up replacing Wile on the Vikings’ roster instead.
