Dan Bailey – K

Dan Bailey was god awful in the game against the Bucs and there is no way to sugar coat it. It was the worst kicking performance the Vikings have seen since Daniel Carlson melted down against the Green Bay Packers in 2018.

It remains to be seen if Bailey’s performance will result in the same outcome that Carlson’s did, but we should know soon.

While Bailey wasn’t the only reason why Minnesota lost on Sunday, he was a major part of it. He missed an extra point and three field goals. His poor day left 10 points off the board for the Vikings and those points turned out to be crucial.

Minnesota would have gone up by a couple of scores early on the Bucs and that could’ve changed the entire outcome of the matchup, as the Vikings surely would’ve built off that momentum and even called the game differently on both offense and defense.

Bailey is just not right in the head right now. He missed two extra points and a field goal last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars and he missed all of his kicks against the Bucs. He needs to either be flat out cut or put on the practice squad until he works his way through this severe case of the yips that he has come down with.

Minnesota is still in the playoff hunt despite the loss, but they aren’t going to make it into the postseason if their kicker continues to leave points on the field.
