Defensive MVP

Chris Jones – CB

The depth chart for the Vikings this season is extremely young at cornerback. At only 25-years-old, Chris Jones is actually the oldest on Minnesota’s 53-man roster at the position, and he is one of only two corners with at least two years of NFL experience.

Considering the acclimation time needed for many young defensive backs out of college, it’s nice to see Jones stepping up in big games and playing well at a position of need when the team is really struggling.

Jones only had three tackles on the day, but all three of them were solo efforts and his job in coverage was excellent at well, giving hope that he can step in more when his number is called and play at a high level.

Even further, his performance this season has given the Vikings a good reason to re-sign him and add him to a stable of developing corners. Of course, Minnesota head coach Mike Zimmer does love his defensive backs.

Who do you think deserves to be named the Vikings offensive or defensive MVP from Week 14? And who else deserves to be mentioned for their good play against the Bucs? Let us know your opinion in the comments.
