In his second year with the Minnesota Vikings, Justin Jefferson will be looking to perform even better than he did as a rookie.
Despite being a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, expectations weren’t extremely high for wide receiver Justin Jefferson in his first season with the Minnesota Vikings.
The Vikings already had Adam Thielen as their top receiver and running back Dalvin Cook was the player who the team centered most of their offensive philosophy around. So Minnesota didn’t need Jefferson to come in and put up monster numbers in his first year with the franchise.
Jefferson had other plans though. Not only did he exceed his expectations in 2020, but he also wound up setting numerous Vikings and NFL all-time records.

The upcoming 2021 season will be very different for Jefferson. His expectations will be much, much higher and he’s going to be getting a lot more attention from opposing defenses.
Jefferson is fully aware of what is expected of him though and he’s someone who is going to make sure people know that his rookie year wasn’t a fluke.
It’s been a little while since anyone has seen Jefferson on an NFL field. But a video clip recently popped up that should remind everyone just how talented Minnesota’s top receiver is.
Jefferson was already regarded as one of the top route-runners in the league. But this aspect of his game looks like it could be even better when he returns to the field for the Vikings next season.
Despite not being a starter in his first two games with Minnesota last year, Jefferson still managed to haul in 88 passes for 1,400 yards (NFL rookie record) and seven touchdowns.
What does he have in store for his sophomore season? More broken records? More touchdown dances? Whatever happens, everyone should be excited to see what Jefferson can do as a follow-up to one of the best rookie performances in league history.
