Redrafting the Minnesota Vikings 2021 rookie class
By Nik Edlund
Fourth-Round Pick No. 3
Orignial Pick: Janarius Robinson – DE (FSU)
Redraft Pick: Marco Wilson – CB (Florida)
The Vikings took defensive end Janarius Robinson with their final fourth-round choice. He was expected to rotate in with Danielle Hunter and the gang, and gain some valuable experience in year one as a situational pass rusher.
The Vikings still don’t know what they have in Robinson because he missed the entire season, as he was injured in the preseason and put on reserve. Who knows what his future holds with the new regime, but he is someone who will have to prove himself if he’s going to make the 53-man roster.
Knowing what they know, the Vikings would’ve been better off addressing the cornerback position again, this time taking Marco Wilson out of Florida. Wilson had a stellar rookie season for the Cardinals starting 13 games and racking up 48 tackles. He also forced two fumbles, broke up four passes, and had a tackle for a loss.
He would’ve added valuable depth to the Vikings’ cornerback group and with him on the squad the team wouldn’t have had to turn to Bashaud Breeland, Kris Boyd, or Parry Nickerson.
