The Minnesota Vikings Ring of Honor grows

This surprise is less about what happened than how it happened. Most fans of the Minnesota Vikings likely assumed that Jared Allen would eventually be enshrined in the team’s Ring of Honor but the way it was revealed was priceless.

Minnesota invited the prolific pass rusher to speak to the team after a camp session at U.S. Bank Stadium and help the younger generation of Vikings players understand a little more about the history of the franchise. In fact, the Vikings had brought in a couple of other legends to speak to the team, making Allen’s speech nothing out of the ordinary.

After the speech, a video ran on the screens inside the stadium showing some highlights of Allen’s with the team. However, at the end of the video package, it was announced that he would be the next player inducted into the Ring of Honor. Allen will enter the Ring of Honor during the Minnesota Vikings’ home game against the Cardinals on Oct. 30.

Now, the question arises as to who the next player will be that is announced for the Ring of Honor. But first, it is awesome that Jared Allen will get some of the respect he deserves by accepting his spot among the franchise greats this season.
