Chad Johnson Goes to Jail on Probation Violation After Slapping Lawyer in Butt

Why do a post on Chad Johnson? What does he have to do with the Vikings? Well nothing. But this story is just too funny to pass up. Sad-funny, not funny-funny. Well okay funny-funny too but mostly sad-funny.

The hilarity took place in a Broward county courtroom this morning. Johnson you will recall was hit with probation several months back after being charged with domestic assault. Apparently the former Bengal was not upholding the terms of his probation, hence the court appearance. But lucky for Chad, the judge ruled that  he should not go to jail, giving Johnson another chance to clean up his act.

So what did Chad Johnson do in gratitude? This is beyond ridiculous. Reportedly, Johnson celebrated the victory by slapping his lawyer on the butt. You know like one of them just scored a touchdown. Unfortunately celebratory butt-slapping is not considered correct behavior for a courtroom. The judge saw this, considered it a sign that Johnson isn’t taking his probation seriously and immediately sent him to jail for 30 days.

Now just imagine the level of stupidity we are dealing with here. You are already in trouble with the law. This judge is willing to let you skate for now. You can’t stand there with your hands respectfully folded for a couple of minutes? Even Lindsay Lohan knows the proper way of behaving in a courtroom.

Then again, what do you expect from a guy who once legally changed his surname to his uniform number in Spanish? And to think there was a time when Viking fans wanted this guy. What a fool.
