Viking fans would love to see Adrian Peterson stay in purple for the rest of his career. And certainly there is no indication on Adrian’s part that he would like to leave Minnesota any time soon. But, if it should ever happen that Adrian does leave the Vikings, he knows where he would like to land.

His home state of Texas.

Adrian was asked about this Wednesday on ESPN Radio’s SVP & Russillo Show. “You know, I’d be a liar if I said it’s something that hasn’t crossed my mind before,” he replied.

“But I’ve also said to myself it would be so amazing to be one of those players who stays with one team his entire career, it would be good if I could do that. But being from Texas, I’ve always wondered, wow, it would be cool to play in Dallas, to play back home. Or to play in Houston.”

Lots of great bars in Houston. Just remember to keep your hands off the cops.

Dallas is great too if you don’t mind underachieving year after year under a crazy owner who thinks he’s a personnel genius.

Hopefully Viking fans aren’t taking Adrian’s speculation about potential future employers too hard. It’s not like he’s asking out of Minnesota. He’s just saying, if…

Like, if he decides he can’t stand playing outdoors in the cold for two seasons and begs Zygi Wilf to trade him. But I’m sure the conditions at TCF won’t be a problem for Adrian. It’s not like he’s Mike Wallace or something. He’s tough.

Here’s hoping we never have to see Adrian in another uniform. And if we do, here’s hoping it’s not the Cowboys’ uniform. Or the Packers’.

I just made myself puke a little.
