The Vikings improved their draft position from #6 to #4 by losing to the Ravens. And who did we take in this week’s FanSided.com mock draft?

This guy:

4. Minnesota Vikings: Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State

Derek Carr is statistically the most impressive quarterback in the draft. He might have the strongest arm, and he can fit the ball into any window. He’s got good athleticism and a competitive fire that you love to see in a QB prospect. In other words, he’s exactly what the Minnesota Vikings need.

So there you go. Thanks to this mock draft selection, the Vikings will win the next ten Super Bowls at least.

Just for the sake of argument, let’s say the Vikings pass on Carr – no offense to the kid, I’m sure he’s a great kid – and instead take Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel. Wouldn’t that be more fun? Having a rowdy character like Manziel on the team?

Manziel would be the new Tommy Kramer. In more ways than one.

But I’m sure Carr is good too. He has nice college stats. It’s all about those college stats. Ty Detmer, that guy had college stats up the wazoo. David Klingler too. Ryan Leaf. Those guys were all great pros.
