It didn’t take long for Cassel to get a huge endorsement from one of the Vikings highest paid players.  Recently, Minnesota wide receiver Greg Jennings took the time to express how he felt about the future of the team’s quarterback position.

I think guys rally behind him.”"

Jennings has had his best game as a Viking (and the second best game of his career) with Cassel at the helm.  The two seem to have a rapport when it comes to the game of football, both on and off the field.

"“We talk a lot – whether he’s playing or not,” Jennings said. “I talk to him more than any other quarterback in the building. That’s just the kind of relationship we had coming in. Experienced guys, so he understands defenses, knows what they’re trying to do and trying to take away. I think that helps, but as far as having more success with Matt, it’s just about taking advantage of the opportunities that you’re given.”"

Hopefully, the Vikings listen to Jennings.  Cassel has brought this team success when he’s on the football field despite the myriad of injuries to the rest of the team.  Some of the wins even came against teams where the Vikings weren’t given a serious chance of winning.

Although the team is likely to use an early draft pick on a quarterback, they should definitely not overlook what they already have in Matt Cassel.
