USA Football’s All Fundamentals Team Includes Patterson

The honors keep adding up for rookie kick returner and wide receiver Cordarelle Patterson.  This time, he has been named to USA Football’s All Fundamentals Team.  The All Fundamentals Team only has the elite players at their position.  Twenty-six players are honored with being named to the team, and Patterson was one of them.

Here is the entire roster of the All Fundamentals Team and their skill they are honored for:

Offensive Team

QB:  Peyton Manning – Reading the defense

RB:  Frank Gore – Running with a low pad level

FB:  John Kuhn – Catching the ball out of the backfield

WR:  Larry Fitzgerald – Adjusting to the ball in the air

WR:  A.J. Green – Beating press coverage to get into his route

TE:  Jason Witten – Finding holes in zone defense

OT:  Jermon Bushrod – Pass protection

OG:  Jahri Evans – Moving defenders off the line

OC:  Nick Hardwick – Line adjustments

OG:  Andy Levitre – Cutting off defenders

OT:  Tyron Smith – Footwork and balance

Defensive Team

DE:  Muhammed Wilkerson – Defeating blockers

DE:  Chris Long – Reading run vs. pass

DT:  Kyle Williams – Playing with low pad level

DT:  B.J. Raji – Holding the line of scrimmage

LB:  Robert Mathis – Pass rush

LB:  Luke Kuechly – Flowing to the play

LB:  D’Quell Jackson – Form tackling

CB:  Brent Grimes – Driving a receiver’s route

CB:  Richard Sherman – Playing the ball

S:  Eric Berry – Supporting the run

S:  Earl Thomas – Pursuing the ball-carrier

Special Teams

K:  Stephen Gotskowski – Accuracy and consistency

P:  Dustin Colquitt – Changing field position

LS:  Jon Dorenbos – Snapping accuracy

KR: Cordarrelle Patterson – Field vision and hitting the hole

You can vote for the team offensive, defensive, and special teams captains at http://usafootball.com/all-fundamentals-team and the winning players will get $3,000 to donate to the youth or high school football program of their choice.  Meanwhile, the rest of the players chosen to the team will receive a $1,500 equipment grant from USA Football to donate to the youth or high school football program of his choice.
