The football insider community seems to have divided into two factions: those who are convinced the Vikings won’t take a QB at #8, and those who are not yet quite convinced that QB is out of the picture.

Adam Caplan has put in his two cents on this issue, casting his lot with the former group.

Peter King is also on record as believing the Vikings will pass on the chance to take a QB at #8.

With QB being ruled out, Aaron Donald is the name now being linked most often to the Vikings with the #8 overall pick. C.J. Mosley still seems like an option, though some think his medicals will scare teams away.

Justin Gilbert and Kyle Fuller look like the top CB options but #8 might be a little high for either of them.

Some persist in speculating that the Vikings could try to trade up for Khalil Mack, but that seems a remote possibility at this point.

On the total flip side, Todd McShay and Mel Kiper in their last mock draft both had Blake Bortles going to the Vikings.

Now and again a brave soul will mock Johnny Manziel to Minnesota at 8, but it seems highly unlikely that he will make it all the way past St. Louis, Cleveland, Oakland and Tampa Bay.

Just two-and-a-half days left to wait.
