Chad Greenway Full Participant In Practice Wednesday

Chad Greenway‘s season has been a bit of a mess so far.  Physically, he has played with a broken left hand until the physical linebacker broke three of his ribs three weeks ago.  Some folks have doubted Chad Greenway’s play level, but they can’t doubt his toughness.  With a history of playing through the pain, Chad Greenway has shown himself to be one of the toughest players in the league.  Not only that, but prides himself of not missing games for any reason whatsoever.

On Wednesday, Greenway was a full participant in the team’s practice. Still dealing with a broken hand and broken ribs, he’s toughing it through the pain and showing that he wants to get back on the football field.

The Minnesota Vikings could use Chad Greenway back on the field.  Not that backup linebacker Gerald Hodges has been absolutely terrible, because he hasn’t.  But Greenway brings leadership, intelligence, and experience to a team that lacks some of those qualities.  The fact that Chad Greenway was able to be a full participant in Wednesday’s practice shows that he is moving toward being active in a game soon.

Quietly, the Vikings have put together the #8 overall defense in the NFL, being #6 against the pass and #20 against the run.  Head coach Mike Zimmer is turning this team’s defense around, and if Chad Greenway can return to action, he should be able to help keep this defense moving in the right direction.
