Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has work to do in becoming a top NFL quarterback, but his work with 2 minutes left in the game was unmatched.

When you think of quarterbacks that you’d want closing out a game for you in today’s NFL, there are many options that cross your mind. Players like Aaron Rodgers, Tony Romo, and Russell Wilson have given fans some of the best moments at the end of a game, but one passer stood over them all last season.

Teddy Bridgewater was a magician in the final minutes of games. His ability to pick up first downs and have a high completion percentage made him a dangerous quarterback last season even if it didn’t translate into a lot of passing yards or touchdowns.

In fact, Pro Football Reference compiled a list of all the quarterbacks to throw the ball 10 times or more in the season and Teddy Bridgewater was their number one ranked passer in the final two minutes of games.

According to the information, Bridgewater had a very impressive 155.4 passer rating during that time, which should help make fans confident in the quarterback of the future for the Minnesota Vikings. Here is the tweet from Pro Football Reference regarding their study:

Of course, you’ll have to forgive Pro Football Reference for calling him “Teddy Birdgewater” but mistakes happen. Thankfully, Bridgewater isn’t becoming known for making mistakes in the clutch. However, as Minnesota Vikings fans know, the young quarterback needs to finish more drives with touchdowns before he gets his name mentioned along with the best passers in the NFL.

Despite the great stat, Pro Football Reference only credited Bridgewater with one game winning drive last season, and that was against the Chicago Bears during their week 8 matchup.
