Projected defensive ends

One of the most stable and talent packed parts of the Minnesota Vikings defense, the defensive ends act as the anchors of the team. They hold the corner and bring fear to the hearts of opposing quarterbacks. There shouldn’t be too much of a change within the ranks of this position.

Everson Griffen

It is no surprise that Griffen is here. He got a big deal with the Vikings to be the replacement for Jared Allen and has lived up to the details of his contract. His high energy and athleticism make him difficult for any offensive lineman to contain.

Danielle Hunter

Youth, speed, and potential. Hunter may have only cracked the surface of his big play ability last season when he led the team in sacks and wasn’t even a designated starter. This season, he will likely see more action as the Vikings prepare him to take over opposite Griffen.

Brian Robison

The veteran pass rusher has been losing snaps to Hunter over the last couple of seasons and now he looks to lose his starting gig as well. Robison will still be a valuable part of the defense as a rotational and situational player who can still play at a high level.

Datone Jones

Coming over from the Packers, Jones is out to prove that he can be a top pass rusher when used correctly. The former first round draft pick will have to fight for playing time, but he could see himself gaining a lot of value this season after looking like a bust in Green Bay.

Stephen Weatherly

Minnesota is very high on Weatherly. The Vikings elevated him to the main roster to prevent other teams from poaching him as a free agent. However, that doesn’t mean he will earn playing time on defense. For now, he will earn his way through special teams.
