Training camp 2017: Vikings rookies get their feet wet on day one in Mankato
By Adam Patrick
Team news and morning walk thru:
The day began with a couple of announcements from the team. Minnesota placed running back Latavius Murray and rookie linebacker Shaan Washington on the active/physically-unable-to-participate (PUP) list and defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd on the active/non-football injury (NFI) list.
To bring their roster up to the full 90-man offseason limit, the Vikings also announced the signing of offensive tackle Arturo Uzdavinis on Monday. The big guy measures in at 6-foot-7, 305 pounds and spent 2016 as a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears’ practice squads (no word on if they signed him because he already looks like a real life Viking).
For the players who had reported to camp and were healthy enough to participate, the team began their day with a morning walk thru that began around 10:30 a.m. CT.
Nothing too exciting went on, as is the case normally with a walk thru. But a few faces familiar to Vikings fans were out on the field.
