Safeties

Strong Safeties

  1. Andrew Sendejo
  2. Jayron Kearse
  3. Jack Tocho

Free Safeties

  1. Harrison Smith
  2. Anthony Harris
  3. Antone Exum Jr.

Once again, Smith and Sendejo will be the Minnesota Vikings starting safeties for the season while others fight for depth. However, the individuals listed under them could make this a very challenging race for spots.

Kearse has the size and athleticism to make a big impact, but has yet to make the big jump to success. Other carryovers from last season include Harris and Exum, which should be used on special teams as they continue to develop.

Rookie Jack Tocho is the wild card in this situation. There hasn’t been much talk about him in training camp so far, but that doesn’t mean he’s been having a poor showing or won’t be challenging for a spot on the main roster or practice squad.
