Stephen Weatherly – DE

Due to Everson Griffen missing time during the early part of the season, Weatherly was given the opportunity to start in six of the Vikings’ first nine games. The 24-year-old defensive end has certainly taken advantage of his opportunities this year and he has developed into quite the talented pass rusher.

Through nine games, Weatherly’s 20 quarterback pressures (which includes three sacks) are the third-most among all Minnesota defenders in 2018.

He actually had his best day off the season last week against the Detroit Lions when he was used more as a rotational pass rusher with Griffen back in the starting lineup. During the Vikings’ win over the Lions, Weatherly finished with four hits on the quarterback, two tackles (both for a loss), and one sack.

Obviously his talent is not at the level of Griffen or Danielle Hunter right now, but Weatherly has proven this year that he can be nice little weapon for Minnesota’s defense to utilize.
