Adrian Peterson – RB

A reunion for Peterson in Minnesota? Some Vikings fans may be hoping for this, but this is not a roster move the team should be making this offseason.

Peterson might have had a nice season for the Washington Redskins in 2018 when he was basically the team’s only option on offense, but let’s not start acting like any sort of decent production is guaranteed for him in the future.

Prior to signing with the Redskins last season, the veteran running back only gained a total of 601 rushing yards in 13 games from 2016 to 2017.

Minnesota is in need of adding a No. 2 running back behind Dalvin Cook this year, but Peterson’s ego is too big for him to assume the role of a backup. Because of this, the Vikings bringing him back for 2019 could cause some turmoil in the backfield.

Luckily for Minnesota, the soon-to-be 34-year-old running back is reportedly in talks with Washington about a new contract for 2019.

In an effort to avoid the thought of there even being a chance that Peterson would return to the Vikings, let’s hope that he and the Redskins can work something out before free agency begins this offseason.
