5 free agent defensive tackles the Vikings should consider for 2019
By Adam Carlson
2. Bennie Logan
At 29 years old, Bennie Logan still has a lot of gas in the tank and should be looking for the opportunity to compete to be a starter wherever he goes. He didn’t start a single game for the Titans in 2018 but got the nod to start 63 times during his years with the Eagles and Chiefs.
His statistics won’t blow fans away. In six seasons where he played in 89 games, Logan has only accumulated 233 tackles (164 solo), 17 quarterback hits, seven sacks, three pass defenses, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.
Still, this is a player who is likely hungry to prove he needs more than just a backup role. The six-foot-two and 315-pounder could be an effective run stuffer to pair with Linval Joseph and could be substituted out in pass rush situations.
With the talent on the Minnesota Vikings coaching staff and the potential, he showed early in his career, he could be an interesting project for the team who they might be able to acquire on the cheap this offseason.
