LOS ANGELES, CA - SEPTEMBER 27: Wide receiver Aldrick Robinson #17 of the Minnesota Vikings makes a catch in front of cornerback Marcus Peters #22 of the Los Angeles Rams to score a touchdown and take a 7-0 lead in the first quarter at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on September 27, 2018 in Los Angeles, California. Aldrick Robinson

2018 Stats:

  • 17 catches
  • 231 yards (13.6 average)
  • 5 touchdowns

When he actually got the ball in his hands, Robinson was a pleasant surprise for the Vikings last season. He only had a total of 35 targets in 2018, but he still managed to find the end zone five times in a Minnesota uniform.

Thanks to the Vikings still trying to convince themselves that Laquon Treadwell could actually be productive, Robinson didn’t get as many opportunities as he maybe should have last year. But perhaps his numbers would look a little differently if Minnesota decided to bring him back in 2019 as their third receiver?

With his ability to stretch the field, Robinson is actually a pretty nice option to have on the field at the same time as Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs. He can force the defense to respect his speed and give Thielen and Diggs more one-on-one opportunities, which is always the hope for these two elite route-runners.

Robinson being very affordable (made under $1 million last year) and his familiarity with the Vikings’ offense could give him the edge over other possible free-agents that Minnesota may be interested in this offseason.
