2018 Stats

  • 67 carries, 403 yards, 2 TD
  • 5 catches, 41 yards, TD

Sometimes connecting the dots on potential free agent targets boils down to making a phone call to an old friend. Anderson could be a guy that offensive consultant Gary Kubiak pounds on the table for based on their time in Denver.

During their two-year stint in 2015 and 2016, Anderson racked up 1,157 yards and nine touchdowns even with his 2016 campaign being cut short due to injury. His experience in Kubiak’s system is also amplified by an agility score that ranked in the 61st percentile in the 2013 draft class.

Some of his injuries have sapped his ability, but after being cut by Carolina last season, Anderson ran for 299 yards and two touchdowns in relief of Todd Gurley in the final two weeks of the regular season and had a 123-yard, two touchdown performance against the Dallas Cowboys in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. Those performances may have made his price tag rise, but if he is the same player from last January, it could be a steal for the Vikings’ backfield.
