Minnesota Vikings: 10 best second round draft picks of all time
By Adam Carlson
4. Kyle Rudolph, tight end
It’s hard to believe that Kyle Rudolph has been a member of the Minnesota Vikings for eight seasons, but the tight end has been a reliable and consistent part of the team’s offense since he was selected in the 2011 NFL Draft.
A two-time Pro Bowl player with one Pro Bowl MVP award under his belt, Rudolph was selected to be a weapon for rookie quarterback Christian Ponder but ended up outlasting the quarterback and many others on the roster to accumulate the ninth most receiving yards in franchise history.
In his eight seasons, he has played in 112 games, starting 104 of those. He has accumulated 3,787 yards on 386 catches during that time, scoring 41 touchdowns and doesn’t look to be slowing down any time soon.
If he can continue to be a great option for the team’s quarterback, odds are that the six-foot-six, 265-pound tight end could move up this list even more. However, the team still has to be very happy they picked him.
