Made Field Goals

Current Record: 35 (Gary Anderson, 1998 and Blair Walsh, 2012)

Prior to joining the Vikings last season, Dan Bailey was the second-most accurate kicker in the history of the NFL with an 88.2 field goal percentage. But after his year in Minnesota, Bailey has now dropped to being the fifth-most accurate kicker in league history.

He definitely struggled in 2018 with the Vikings as he only converted 75 percent of his field goal attempts. Still, there is reason to believe Bailey can turn it around and have a much better performance during the upcoming season.

Minnesota has a new special teams coach in Marwan Maalouf and the team also hired Nate Kaeding as a part-time kicking coach for 2019. So the Vikings are clearly making an effort to improve their kicking game for the upcoming season.

Bailey has never made more than 30 field goals in a single year since he entered the NFL in 2011. But he could change that if Maalouf and Kaeding can fix some of his problems from last year.

Helping his chances is the fact that Minnesota has attempted at least 38 field goals in two of their last four seasons. If this happens again in 2019, then Bailey has a good shot at breaking the Vikings’ all-time record for made field goals in a single season.

Prediction: The record stands
